Ministries of the Archdiocese of New Samoa
The Archdiocese of New Samoa serves the faithful through a variety of ministries that support spiritual growth, education, family life, and community well-being. While our Archdiocese is small, we are committed to ensuring that every parish and every family has access to pastoral care and guidance. These ministries reflect our mission to bring the Gospel to life in service and action.
Forming Faith and Mind
Our Catholic schools and parish catechetical programs form the next generation of faithful. From children preparing for their first sacraments to adults entering the Church through RCIA, catechesis is central to our mission. Dedicated teachers, catechists, and clergy work together to provide a solid grounding in both faith and academics.
Guiding the Future of the Church
Young people are at the heart of our Archdiocese. We host youth gatherings, retreats, and parish-level programs to strengthen their faith and encourage their participation in the life of the Church. Vocational promotion is also central: we support those discerning priesthood, religious life, and lay vocations, fostering openness to God’s call.
Serving Those in Need
Inspired by Christ’s command to love one another, our Archdiocese supports charitable works in both urban and rural communities. Outreach efforts include food assistance, support for families in crisis, and parish-driven aid to coastal and remote villages. Though our resources are limited, our commitment to solidarity and compassion remains steadfast.
Caring for Body and Spirit
In collaboration with local clinics and parish volunteers, the Archdiocese provides support to families and individuals in need of basic health and community care. This includes home visits for the elderly, assistance with medical needs, and spiritual care for those unable to attend parish life regularly.
Reaching the Marginalized
The Archdiocese is committed to reaching Catholics who feel distant from the Church. Parish missions, family catechesis workshops, and new initiatives such as SinForgive.com offer pastoral encouragement, compassionate listening, and guidance to help the faithful grow in holiness and return to active parish life.
While not a replacement for sacramental confession, these outreach efforts are meant to prepare individuals spiritually and strengthen their courage to seek reconciliation and deeper participation in the Church.
Living the Gospel Together
Through these ministries, the Archdiocese of New Samoa seeks to serve Christ in all people. Whether through education, youth engagement, charity, health, or outreach, our goal is the same: to bring the light of the Gospel into every corner of our island communities.
